Constipation: Dulcolax is a stimulant laxative. Generally takes effect within 10 hours if oral and one hour if rectal. Ex Lax contains sennosides which are also stimulant laxatives. It would be safe to take another dose now. It would also be reasonable to consider using an osmotic laxative like sorbitol / lactulose or polyethylene glycol. All of these agents benefit from adequate water intake.
