Tubal procedures: Simply tying the tubes in one place is more likely for the "knots" to come undone. Most surgeons like to tie the tubes and take a section of the Fallopian tube out leaving a dead space in between. Other procedures involve "burning"(cautery) the tube in several places or clipping them twice on each tube. All of the later named procedures are more secure and fail less frequently
