Plan B: Plan B or emergency contraception is available over the counter at pharmacies in 21 states. Local community health centers may also help with sliding fee scale help. Otherwise consider a virtual consult with a health tap doctor. You need to use Plan B no longer than 72 hrs after unprotected sex.

Keep trying: It's surprising the health department can't help. At least they should be able to tell you where you can get post-exposure contraception like Plan B. Other possibilities are to ask a pharmacy (try several if necessary); Planned Parenthood; or a community clinic. Good luck!
