A member asked:

My uncle's monocyte count is zero n he has malaria...is that an serious issue????

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: On a manual count of only 100 cells, there is a fair chance no monocytes will be counted. If it is an automated count, it is a machine problem. If all else is okay, it is a non problem. Nobody lacks only monocytes.
