Ovulation: Some women have a little bit of uterine bleeding around the time that they ovulate. This has to do with a slight lowering of the estradiol levels at the time of ovulation. That fools the inner lining of the uterus to believe it is supposed to not grow any more and it starts shedding. However, the estradiol production by the ovary picks up after a day or so, and stimulates the inner lining again.
