A member asked:

Does a dopamine deficiency lead to less saliva production. does too much dopamine lead to an increase in saliva production?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Dopamine is not related to saliva production, however many of the medications used to alter dopamine levels cross-react with acetylcholine receptors, which causes a decrease in salivation, as well as constipation, dry eyes, and tiredness.
