Yeast vaginitis: can cause irritation of the vagina which can then cause mucus production. Straining while having a BM can cause the mucus to come out. Mucus in the stool can also suggest irritation or inflammation of the bowel but, other than the straining, there's no relationship between the two. Hope this helps. Dr. Anne
