Popping in ankle: May be peroneal tendon subluxation, if you have had ankle injuries. http://www.houstonmethodist.org/orthopedics/where-does-it-hurt/ankle/peroneal-tendon-subluxation/ In general popping reflects tendon slipping out of place, if previous trauma may be due to scarring. Rarely can be cartilage of bone dysfunction f/u with orthopedics
