Butrans: Buprenorphine (butrans) is often used to treat opioid dependence. If implemented properly, it can alleviate the signs and symptoms of withdrawal. Initiation must be done under the care of an addiction medicine specialist.

Butrans patch: NO- The BUtrans patch is not indicated for use in addiction. Also the dosing is very low compared to the current Buprenorphine product used for addiction. It may address issues of withdrawal to a limited extent - it is really for chronic pain.
