Call around for info: Planned Parenthood may be able to check for STDs. They are at San Jose Health Center, 1691 The Alameda, San Jose, 408.287.7526. Also, if a teen is on his or her parents' insurance plan, visits for prevention or treatment of STD's, of pregnancy, and of drug/alcohol/psychological issues... are all supposed to be kept confidential from the parents. In real life, confidentially may not be 100%.
