Not that simple: Not likely that you got it that way. Not much transmission that way, but possible. Of more interest, most adults already have type 1 and many have type 2. The odds are that you already have type 1 herpes with no symptoms. If you do, you already have it and cannot catch it from another person. A blood test can tell you your status.
