No or very rarely: This can happen early, i.e. during the initial infection and for a few weeks. After that, the immune system prevents new infection with the same HSV type, anywhere on the body. To be extra safe, use common sense hygiene, like hand washing or alcohol gel after touching an area with an outbreak. But no need to be compulsive; the chance is zero or close to it.
