Itching: Niaspan (niacin) can cause flushing and itching. Many other drugs can be used to reduce fat in our blood.

Niaspan (niacin): Niacin causes this reaction. To make it not occur you need to take a full dose aspirin, or an Ibuprofen 1/2 hour before you take the niaspan (niacin). You should take it at bed time and also eat a low fat snack with it. Avoid alcohol of spicy foods before taking it. This should prevent the reaction.
