Bartholin's cyst: If someone has a small cyst which causes no symptoms and is not infected , it may be best to simply leave it alone. However , we should not assume a lump in areas around vagina or vulva to be bartholin's cyst .It is best for a doctor to examine and confirm the diagnosis and rule out other causes of lumps in vulva.

Bartholin's abscess: Needs to be drained, often afterwards a small catheter is placed to help with drainage and healing. All the best.
