Trichinella spiralis: Trichinella spiralis = nematode parasite that causes food borne trichinosis infections. It is often associated w eating under-cooked pork. Some cases may be asymptomatic. Early sx’s may include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain & fatigue with later development of pink eye, light sensitivity, headache, swelling of face, weakness, high fever & muscle pain.
