Bleeding from navel: After birth, the blood vessels in the umbilical cord spasm and then seal over, and when the cord dries, the blood vessels have retraced and scarred close. Any blooding from the navel would be belly button bleeding. Bleeding would suggest inadequate healing of the umbilical cord stump or presence of inflamed tissue such as a pyogenic granuloma.
