Low oxygen: Carbon monoxide is a byproduct of combustion. It is an odorless colorless gas that can be deadly. Carbon monoxide is inhaled and then binds to blood hemoglobin very tightly. Hemoglobin is the molecule in the blood that carries oxygen to tissues. Carbon monoxide interferes with the delivery of oxygen to the body, which can result in death.
