A member asked:

What should i do if its my first time taking birth control and my period comes next should i continue taking it or wait until my period come?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Take 1 pill every d: Most women who take birth control pills have no side effects, but the most common side effect in the first 1-3 months is irregular, unpredictable bleeding that gets better over time. So write down the dates of any bleeding, but don't stop taking 1 pill every day at the same time. After you've been on it for awhile, periods should be very regular and predictable during the last wk of your pill pack.
