Decreased cognition: In pediatrics, we follow infants-toddlers for delayed milestones and one of those is the cognition being within normal limits. If not walking and talking at the appropriate time, i.e. 18 months, this is delayed and hearing and other evaluations may be done. If adults acquire cognition delays, i.e. memory, brain function, dementia or other issue should be ruled out.
