Muscle disorder: Myopathy is a primary disorder of the muscle. Myopathies can be congenital, acquired (often autoimmune) and part of hereditary syndromes. These are typically diagnosed based on clinical presentation, genetic testing, and muscle biopsy and occasionally electrodiagnostic testing.
