Fallopian tube: I am very surprised that your doctor has not discussed this in detail. You must discuss this some more with your Gynecologist!

Various techniques: There are a variety of techniques to performing a tubal ligation during a c section. The most common is a mid segmental salpingectomy - This is where the middle section of the tube is removed completely. Recently some doctors are removing the entire tube as some studies show a reduction in the lifetime risk of ovarian cancer when the tube is removed.
