Generally, yes.: A & D ointment contains lanolin, a waxy substance found in sheep wool, mineral oil & petroleum jelly. These ingredients help keep external moisture out and natural skin moisture in. If you're allergic to wool, you might get a reaction from lanolin. Otherwise, A & D is safe, but not always effective.
