Message in a bottle: There is a "message in the bottle" regarding the use of a douche to "flush out" the remains of a period. Mother Nature is far more effective in removing the "giblets" of a remaining period then a douche which can cause major pH changes in the vagina or in this case bleeding. If the bleeding doesn't stop in 24 hours, have a GYN MD examine you for an injury or infection.
