Exam: You need to pursue a full exam with an ophthalmologist if you have scotomas or scintillating scotomas and any area of visual defect or total loss of vision in one eye that is persistent then you should be seen emergently for a full medical history and physical exam including a comprehensive eye exam by a specialist.
