Revisit your dentist: It sounds as though you may have a bony sequestrum which your body would like to reject. Sometimes during an extraction, bone cracks and loses its blood supply and the body rejects it. Visit your dentist to remove the broken piece which is not uncommon

Not unusual: It is not uncommon for a piece of bone to work its way out after an extraction. This can occur a several days/weeks (even months) after extraction. Although the bony piece is usually very small, it can be very painful as it protrudes through gums (creating a small hole in gums). The piece of bone is easily removed (with topical numbing and forceps) and usually provides instant relief once removed.
