No: The Yuzpe method was developed in the '70s when higher-dose estrogen/progesterone pills were used. Drospirenone based pills such as Yasmillene aren't effective as emergency contraception. Consider using Plan B or Plan B one step. Blood clotting: If it were a birth control pill with norethisterone or levonorgestrel in it, I would agree that that pill could be used as an emergency contraceptive. Drospirone has been involved in cases of blood clotting - for that reason I would not feel comfortable with a high dose of drospirenone. If you are on a birth control pill and have taken it as prescribed, there is no need for emergency contraception
