A member asked:

I'm 22 and my hairs are turning white, any reason or anything i can do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

White hair: Both thyroid problems and vitamin B-12 deficiency can cause premature grey hair. Make sure your doctor checks a B12 level, and also a serum MMA (methyl malonic acid) as well as TSH and free T4. Be careful also that you are getting adequate nutrition and that you are not underweight. Your BMI shoule be 18.5 or higher. http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm
