A member asked:

My boyfriend has genital warts and they are starting to smell, usually we would ignore them and carry on but they're leaving a thick layer of grease.

He needs treatment: Odor suggests warts are infected. All genital or anal warts should be treated or removed surgically, and for sure warts large enough to get infected or have odor must be treated. Also, large warts have increased chance of being cancerous. Get him to a doctor. Also see your own doctor to be checked for warts, have a pap smear (f you are female), and discuss the HPV vaccine.
