A member asked:

Ive had the same kidney stone for years.dr isnt worried because it only hurts occasionally. i want it removed, how do i go about this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It depends on the size and type of stone. Some stones can be pulverized by sound waves, lithotripsy, and the smaller fragments can pass through the urine. If that is not an option the stone may need to be removed surgically, either minimally invasive or open surgery.
