See doctor for tests: Usually your doctor will ask you some questions on your general health and will order some initial blood tests to see if you have become iron deficient for example. If your doctor and yourself remain concerned that coeliac disease is possible s special blood test for coeliac disease can be ordered. If this test is positive an endoscopy (camera ) and biopsy form your intestines confirms diagnosis.

Testing: The initial screen is some bloodwork that is sometimes referred to as a celiac panel. If any of those results come back positive or suspicious for celiac the next step would be a procedure called an Upper endoscopy. This procedure occurs w/sedation & the gastroenterologist will take biopsies of your stomach and first part of small intestine. These get sent to the lab and will confirm diagnosis.
