A member asked:

Is it ok to remove a skin tag&does removing it cause another to grow? will another grow in its place? what causes skin tags? please tell me everything

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Removing a skin tag will not cause another to grow. When removed, they very rarely regrow. The tags often grow in areas that rub together or where clothing rubs and they have hereditary component. They can be removed with sterile scissors by sniping at the base and lifting at the same time and using styptic to sterilize and stop any bleeding. Most safely removed by a health care provider.
