Great empathy!: No, it is not possible to actually "catch" depression like the flu or a cold. However, Dad's to be and new Dad's have been known to empathize with their pregnant partners or recently delivered ones and experience similar symptoms. Remember, that one of you two must be "clear headed" enough to take care of the new baby's needs if your wife is impaired.
