Normal: One of the benefits of taking birth control pills (BCPs) is that they make your menses lighter and less painful. That's one of the indications for using them. I would expect your period to feel different. Irregular bleeding on BCPs is also very common, especially for the first 3 months. Your body is still getting used to the hormones.
