Symptoms vs. Reality: Symptoms are interpretations by the person who perceives them (within their brain↔mind) & only possible clues as to what is happening. Better diagnoses (just labels, not necessarily accurate or useful for solutions) also require signs (exam, lab findings, etc.) in order to offer reasonable guesses as to what might be happening. Medicine is not magical; physicians are only detectives, at best.
