That depends on why: There are many causes of blood in the urine, each with its own set of risk factors. If its from kidney stones then risk factors are dehydration, family history, and dietary choices, If from bladder cancer then smoking is the biggest risk factor. For other causes the risks range from strep infections and vigorous activity to simple urethral irritation from sex or inflammation from STDs and UTIs.
