Arrhythmia: A heart arrhythmia can be due to a variety of causes. Some are very benign (not dangerous) but some can be life threatening. Complications or symptoms of an arrhythmia can include sensations of fast or abnormal heart rate or heart pounding, lightheadedness, almost passing out, passing out, shortness of breath, chest pain, stroke, cardiac arrest, and death.
