Periods can be: irregular at any age. Many different things can cause this to happen. In the first 2 years of getting a period, "anything goes",meaning that monthly periods may happen, but months can also be skipped.Other things that can cause this are illness, stress, strenuous exercise, weight loss, weight gain, pregnancy...Please speak with her pediatrician for further advice,and/or contact one of us on Prime.

Who knows?: There isn't enough information about age of your daughter, age of onset of period, pubertal development, etc. to give you an accurate answer.

May take time: in young girls, the hormonal balance and feedback from your brain to the ovaries to tthe uterus can take some time to establish a normal cyclic pattern. It could be due to that . in some cases, they need medications to help regulate the period.
