A member asked:

Can anxiety stress, etc. have any effect on potassium levels?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Chronic and acute stress can reduce or deplete potassium levels in the body. Generally speaking, this occurs because elevation of stress hormones increase retention of sodium and throw the potassium to sodium ratio out of order. If chronic stress is a concern and is affecting your health please consult you doctor or a mental provider. Be well.
