See your doctor: Mucous stool is not the normal. See your doctor. It could be a change from antibiotics or other things. It could be the onset of inflammatory bowel disease. This has an occurance in young and old age groups. 1-2 days of abdominal pain you might get by but 4 days is too long. Tell your doctor if anything makes it better or worse. At 58 you should have already had a screening colonoscopy.
