No worries: A normal healthy person can live his life without worrying about getting herpes from peanuts. Most adults already have type 1 herpes in the mouth area, from catching it in childhood from grandmothers, parents, siblings, and other kids. Some adults are lucky and don't get the cold sores, which are recurrences of their own herpes. To check herpes immunity, one can just do a HerpeSelect blood test.
