Avoid direct sun: Avoiding direct sunlight will allow skin to lighten, but that usually means a person may become deficient in vitamin D (means taking vitamin d to avoid deficiency). Using sunscreen helps also, by decreasing tanning. One may want to use indoor exercise, if avoiding outdoor sunshine. One shouldn't hide indoors just to have lighter skin, as that would not be healthy.
