I have the apoe gene 4 / 2 , i only have one of the 4"s. i was told that the process in my brain that removes plaque, stops working when i eat sugar?

Statistics: Those patients who do possess APOE epsilon-4 allele, may have a 50% risk of Alzheimer's, but the pattern can also be protective if one has APOE epsilon-2 allele. Not sure what you really have. Although excessive sugar can be harmful, and there may be increased incidence of Alzheimer's in diabetics, the full mechanisms are unclear.
