A member asked:

When my penis is elect, is it normal for the head of the penis to be soft? if so what would do about it?

Dr. James Lin answered

Normal...: Penile rigidity from erection for intercourse is chiefly a result from engorgement of the paired corpora cavernosa on the anterior aspect of penis, not the one, i.e., corpus spongiosum behind corpora cavernosa, which is to guarded urine passing from bladder through urethra out of urethral opening. The penile head is called glans penis - a sensitive part of corpus spongiosum. So, that is normal.
