Consult with doctor: Not enough information. Is the diagnosis certain? Has there been partial improvement? Is this an initial genital herpes infection or a recurrent outbreak? Initial herpes often requires treatment for up to 10 days, but recurrent OBs only need 1-3 days. Acylclovir produces low blood levels in some people; sometimes valacyclovir (Valtrex®) is more reliable. Discuss with your doctor.
