A member asked:

Is there a difference between artificial tears in a bottle vs. single use vials?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Preservative-free: Usually, eyedrops in a bottle are meant for multiple doses, and have a preservative to prevent germs from growing in the bottle after the bottle is opened. Single-use vials are meant for only one dose (one use), and do not need preservatives because they are expected to be thrown away after being opened.
