A member asked:

Is it too late to get tested and cured for std's if the act of unprotected sex happened almost six months ago?

Better late than not: You can and should get tested. Some STDs can only be treated, not cured anyway. Definitely you can prevent spreading any STD by learning and using safe sex info and condoms. I'm glad you've realized that it's important - that's a great thing and can never be too late! Thanks!

Depends: If you are concerned you could be spreading STD's to others, that depends both on whether you caught some and your sexual activity. You certainly could. One type might have already made you sterile, and remained without symptoms, but treatment now may still preserve your fertility.Others can hang around in your body for years. It is best to know and be treated if needed/possible.
