Yes: Pap is a technique of gathering cells shed from cervix and then staining them to see if pattern of malignant cells seen. If yes then bx performed to see of there is an in-situ area which when neg would suggest inflammatory cells. New squamous Ca antibody stains show only Ca and transforming cells but not inflammation.

Yes: Probably the pap was atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance. It is common to have a normal biopsy - or simply inflammation - with this pap. Hope this helps.
