Each STD different: Time to accurate testing is different for all STDs. Gonorrhea and chlamydia 3-4 days. HIV usually 4-8 weeks but sometimes 3 months, depending on exactly what test is done. Syphilis 6 weeks. Herpes blood test 3-4 months. Best advice usually is early testing for gonorrhea & chlamydia, and a second visit at 6-8 weeks for syphilis and HIV. Herpes testing is rarely needed after any one exposure.
