A member asked:

I just started the pill and i'm having irregular bleeding 2 weeks before my actual period. i've been late on a few doses too. should i be worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Break through bleed: Because birth control pills are such low dose it is important to try to take them at the same time each day. Missing and skipping pills leads to break through bleeding. It also can lead to inadequate contraceptive coverage.
