A member asked:

My hairdresser used acetone on my skin to remove hair color on my eyebrows. it is stinging my skin around my eyes. i've washed it repeatedly with col?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No problems: Acetone is a terrific solvent for ordinary skin oils. It evaporates rapidly and would not be directly harmful unless actually poured on the lids and eye. What you are feeling is that the skin around the eyes lacks natural oil and will take 1-2 days to renew this component and then the skin will begin to feel normal again.
